So i just thought i'd post about my kitten Ally...Again.

Things she does that are adorable:
-Even though the dog is obviously three times her size she will jump on her and attack her ears, snout and tail.
-She is very sweet in the morning, but gets more hyper and wants nothing to do with cuddling and only wants to play as the day wears on.
-If you pass her and she's hiding under a chair or bed she'll attack your ankles or feet.
-She would rather sleep in a plastic chair than her soft catbed anyday.
-She will only go outside if you are outthere with her. If you leave her out there and close the door then she will climb up the door and peek in the window. Her way of saying let me back in.
-She knows how to get what she wants. If you are trying to be stern with her she will look at you with those greenish-gray eyes and meow in the sweetest way to get what she wants. She always wins.
-last but not least when you are sitting up, obviously not asleep, she will try to laydown on your neck or chest.

I will post pictures up later. She's the cutest thing.

I have a question though. She likes to jump on the table and explore it. How do i stop that? If i tell her no she waits until i walk toward her then jumps off. But a few minutes later she's up there again. I wouldn't mind if sometimes food wasn't on the table.

OKAY SO. I was just sat here, watching teebee. Suddenly, Toby starts barking, which is weird; he barks a lot at the grandparent for no reason, but if he's with me and barks, it's for a reason. I'd heard a slight thump sort of a noise, but reckoned it was just somebody closing a door upstairs and it'd spooked him, or something. Then, the parent came downstairs asking if I'd closed a door down here, because she'd heard a noise and the cat had been all spooked. So we were weirded out for a bit, then she went away. She came back a few moments later saying someone had done something to the car parked outside, so I went and had a look.

Seemed what had happened is that:

a) Somebody had thrown egg/s at the front door (which was what the noise that alarmed the animals was)
b) Somebody had left a traffic cone in front of the car
c) Somebody had thrown a yogurt pot full of yogurt + grit from one of those grit bin things at roadsides over the windscreen/roof of her car

and it's just like. what? why would you even--?

Sometimes, when the pub along this road was open, you'd get groups of inebriated people causing a fuss along the street - I remember once I was just sat here while a fight broke out on literally the other side of the window, good times I'm sure you'll agree. HOWEVER that pub has been closed for a few months now, so there's that's not a reason... and also, we didn't hear a group of people out there (unless they were real quiet), so it must have been one person? One person carrying a (heavy! tried lifting that thing, heavy man) traffic cone, yogurt-with-road-salt and egg/s. Who chose, out of all of the houses along this street of which we are not the first, our house to throw the latter at. Who chose, out of all the cars parked along this street of which the parent's car is not the first, our car to throw the yogurt/salt mix at. Again, why would you even do that?

The fact that they would choose our door and our car is kind of... the parent seems to think that it must be somebody with a grudge, to do something like that (about six months ago, somebody scratched down the length of her car, the middle car parked in a row of three cars, for also no reason we can fathom)... but I mean, who? We don't really know many people around here for anybody to have a grudge to begin with, you know? It's not like they know anybody to have had cross words, I'm a good four years out of being in the school system and while we can safely say I was mercilessly picked on for most of my scholastic career that never got physical (well I got punched in the face once in year six but anyway) and it's not like anybody from back then really knew where I lived or anything either, so...

It's just, every element in this is completely inexplicable. Why was somebody carrying those particular accoutrements around with them at ten-to-midnight? Why were they walking down this back-end street at that time? Was it random? Was it someone with a grudge? Where on earth did they get a traffic cone from to begin with? Why would somebody do that? ARE WE SAFE IN OUR BEDS? Kind of worried now :x I mean, getting your house egged... we're past Halloween now, you know?

SO CONFUSED. WHAT. WHY. I DON'T EVEN. WHAT.

THERE. I applied for three jobs this week. Teaching, tutoring, and customer service/web design. :P (I wanted to make sure to get something in today so I could file an unemployment claim for this week, if I understand things correctly.)

My GOD, I am -so- underqualified for just about every tech job on Craigslist. O_o;

Today my mother and I went to our local humane society to look at the dogs that are up for adoption, because our Rotty-Dane mix is in bad shape and probably won't see the end of winter. :/ While we were there, we decided to look in on the cats and kittens, and there she was-- A tiny, bedraggled tuxedo kitten, with the saddest eyes I have ever seen on a kitten so young.

We asked the staff member who'd accompanied us to the upper floor about her, and it turns out they'd just found her the day before inside their boardroom. She'd been abandoned by her mother, and they'd already lost 2 of her littermates. My mother took one look at her and volunteered to foster her right there on the spot.

I live out in a rural area, so our Humane Society is often over filled and understaffed-- They didn't really think twice about letting us bring her home in hopes of nursing her to full health. They'd had her with a surrogate mama, but they were still thinking they'd lose her anyways. She's about a month old, and we're calling her Darling, because she's so tiny-- about the size of the two kittens my female had when they were 2-3 weeks, far too small for her actual age. She has a URI, which is why they were so pessimistic about her survival, but we ought to be able to clear that up just fine.

As soon as we had her out of her cage and being cuddled by my mother and I, she perked right up. Just seeing this feels like a hopeful sign, that she just needed some private care and attention, which I can't fault the shelter for being unable to provide, since all of their cat rooms are absolutely filled.

I've raised kittens before, but they had their mother for milk, though we supplemented it with formula-- If no one minds, could I get a few tips for straight-formula feeding? We're using a syringe right now, because we've lost the bottle that came with the formula, and she seems interested enough, but she won't lap it up herself, and I'm afraid of making her eat, incase she accidentally aspirates it.

I have two cats who are both 18 months old. This week, I switched from Adult Purina One cat food to Nutro Weight Control Food. I've been mixing their old food with the new food. But, I've been noticing that they'll eat all of their old food first and leave the new food behind. However, when they decide that they're hungry enough, they'll finish the Nutro.

Is this normal or is this a sign of them saying, "Mom, I hate this. Why are you giving this to me?"

If it's them hating their new food, what's another good brand for weight control?

In my dream last night I got two eyebrow piercings. It was definitely interesting. XD;

Why the piercing-centric dreams? I had one where I got a septum piercing, then this eyebrow piercing one? Why am I dreaming about shoving MORE holes through my body? XD;

Quick question:
Does anyone know if it's ok to use ear drops that were prescribed for my dog on my cat?

My vets already closed and I can't call to ask. I want to say that the red ear drops were prescribed to my cat about 3 years ago as well but I can't remember. We usually keep a bottle on hand just in case because my dog gets ear infections quite often.


[edit] Let me edit to say I already knew that this wasn't advised, I'm against people sharing medicine as well, which my parent's aren't. My mother wanted me to ask on here because she wanted to use my dogs ear drops on her cat. Our vet is closed, and it's the weekend and she is freaking out because she doesn't know what to do. She even wanted to use sweet oil which I told her not to. The same cat had a UTI for two weeks and just got off penicillin.

But as I stated, I am pretty sure the same ear drops were prescribed before is why I was asking here to see if anyone knew anything about ear drops. I can't find any info about them online. KOTO ear drops.

The cats ares are pink, as well as the skin showing through the scent glands area, and they feel warm to the touch, and are a bit smelly.

I just got Pokemon Platinum today (YAY!!) and I've been playing it for hours (God bless the weekends) but now I'm stuck at Hearthrone City. Yep, its that irritating Ghost Gym I'm stuck at.

I've been looking for some good online/multiplayer Xbox 360 games so that I can justify buying an Xbox Gold subscription (I'm still looking so if you have any suggestions....). Halo 3 and CoD4 are really common recommendations, and so I was wondering - do you need to play the first games in a series in order to enjoy them?

From my own (though slightly limited) experience, I've found that you don't. I got the Orange Box last Christmas (mainly so I could play Portal), without having played Half-Life 1 and I found that didn't detract from Half-Life 2 at all. Same with Saints Row 2. What do you guys think?

So remember when I was warning everyone about the XboxLive bannings? Well apparently Microsoft isn't playing around. It has been reported that Microsoft has dropped the Ban-Hammer on between 600,000 to 1 Million consoles.

Needless to say, right now used Xbox 360s are selling for next to nothing- Craigslist is flooded with them. But be forewarned, Microsoft says "If you purchase a modified console second-hand, the warranty is not transferable and the purchaser assumes the risk for any previous modifications... If you purchase a console that has been previously banned, you will not be able to connect to (Xbox) Live.

On the other hand, if you're looking for a modded system (with no interest in going online) your in luck! Their dirt cheap and readily available.

One last thing. There have been people on Craigslist and other forums offering money to un-ban peoples systems. Don't fall for it! Honestly you're better off just buying a new 360.

Beh, the extra sleep was nice tho. Still planning on cleaning today. Junk run tomorrow probably - trying to follow the Law of Equivalent Exchange. A few NaNoWriMos ago, I discovered that Microsoft Word has a 'summary' feature - essentially you can set it to summarise to various degrees (10%, 5%, whatever) and it basically crops down your story to a random garble of sentences, enough to make up 10% of what you've written so far or whatever. I tried it and it came out as gibberish, but then I noticed afterwards that it had automatically added keywords and comments into the properties. To look at them, I'm not sure I could say that that's too far wrong... (Antony, my main character, is the Student Council leader of his school, you see. Lewis is his roomie.)

So i walked into my bathroom and the cat was peeing in the sink so i picked her up and put her on the toilet and told her to pee in the toilet. Now that i think about it why did i tell a cat to pee in the toilet ? I've done some crazy things. I've seen some crazy things. One of my cats lives in an egg box. He never leaves it. My younger male, he plays under my Christmas tree. Both Kiki and Boots sleep on either side of me in the tiny bed and won't let me get up in the morning. Especially when i wake up with a Boots on my chest. Its hard to get up especially when you really have to go in the middle of the night. So i must ask you what are some weird things you find yourself doing with your cats, and what are some weird things they do ?

Also i took my Tiniest kitty Boots to the vet on that monday. Shes alright now she just had a flea allergy and was sick from chewing on her fur. Shes more lively now and kinda hyper almost.

Hi, I'm finmagik and this is list of what makes my kitty Ivan special.

- He waits fo me by the door when I come home and always expects a pet.

- He loves to cuddle, but is not a lap sitter, he'll sit next to you.

-He's always finding new ways to 'hunt' his favorite toy, da bird,

- He loves kittens! He thinks kittens are great fun and when he meets one he wants to play and befiend it.

- He loves goat! He goes nuts over a finger full of chevre, a creamy goat cheese (all I give him is finger tup full). And when I brought home goat meat, for stew he became weirdly obessed with that too. I wonder if he'd like goat milk? Cow diary products he's meh, on. He'll lick chedder then ignore it, cream and milk and ever cat sip are not ranked highly in his book.

- He expects me to hunt for him! We have high ceilings and when he sees a bug on the ceiling he starts calling for me to come with the broom handle to knock it down so he can chase and eat it.

That is what makes Ivan special in my opinion. What makes your cat or cats speical?
